Welcome to HADESTOWN, where a song can change your fate, now playing through January 21 at Fort Lauderdale’s Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Winner of eight 2019 Tony® Awards, including Best Musical, HADESTOWN is a haunting but hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go.
The musical weaves two mythic Greek tales — that of young dreamers in love, Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and his wife Persephone, rulers of the underworld.
The story weighs the hope of faith, love and nature with the bleakness of doubt, fear and labor intensive industry. Hades lures the hungry and cold Eurydice to sign her life away to work in his underground factory. Can Orpheus make his way to the underground without ensnaring himself and save his true love with his song? Come find out at this acclaimed love story by celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and innovative director Rachel Chavkin. Please click here for tickets!
